This half term we have been learning about Space. We have enjoyed learning about the different planets and have made lots of space themed crafts. Our English book this half term has been ‘Space Poems’, we have looked at different kinds of poems and even had a go at writing our own acrostic ones! We played with rockets and became astronauts! It’s been out of this world! 

Our Science topic has been ‘light’. Puffin class have compared manmade light and natural light, found different light sources around school and built our own electrical circuits to light up a bulb. We have also looked at shadows and how we can make our own. 

Our focus artist this half term in Puffins has been Cy Twombly. He made mostly abstract expressionism that we have been inspired by in class! We’ve created art using a variety of materials that resembles Cy’s work. We used marbles in paint, blew through straws, a spiro machine and colouring pencils to create all different types of art. 

We've had lots of fun in outdoor learning! The Puffins have enjoyed a range of activities from making magic wands and slime to toasting marshmallows on the fire and resting in hammocks! What a busy few weeks!

Puffins have had a great start to 2026 and we've got so much fun still to come!
