We have a weekly link with our local Oswaldtwistle library. Our pupils love to visit the library and will engage and participate within a story and singing session. Pupils then have the opportunity to explore a range of books and different kinds of texts.
Pupils can talk about what they can see or what they have observed in a new and motivating environment. Benefits of our weekly library visits include:
-learning reading-like behaviour e.g. turning pages, looking at pictures and text within books
-turn taking
-interacting and communicating with peers and adults
-having the opportunity to freely explore books
-building positive relationships with new people
