Art
At White Ash School we understand the importance of Art and Design. This subject encourages pupils to innovate, analyse and celebrate the world we live in. In addition to providing a self-esteem boost, Art and Design helps pupils with learning differences communicate more effectively and express thoughts and feelings in a way that makes sense to them. We encourage and celebrate the process that of creativity, to problem solve, to make choices and decisions and to take risks with their learning.
Each class covers the main areas: Drawing, painting, printing, collage, textiles and sculpture and investigate the work of Artists past and present over a two year scheme. We also use our creativity to learn in multi sensory ways across the Curriculum from maths to History!
