Summer 2
Eagle class have been learning and exploring all about different Carnivals that happen around the world. We started by exploring the Mardi Gras Carnival, Rio's Carnival and a Funfair carnival. We have listened to and created Samba music when exploring the carnival of Rio de Janerio. We have made musical instruments, carnival masks and necklaces using pasta. We also focused on balloons being a part of a funfair carnival and made our own paper mache balloons.
Our English text has been 'Supertato and the Carnival Catastro-Pea'. We have enjoyed this text using all the props to use role play to understand the story further. Pupils have sequenced events, labelled characters, match pictures and words and explored the resources making a choice of 2.
Our educational visit was to Lytham, St Annes. We loved exploring a beach environment. We played in the sand and built sandcastles, used a kite and watched it in the wind, had our dinner and chips followed by an ice cream. The best day to end our school year!
