White Ash Rota Kids!

The Rota Kids at White Ash School will participate enthusiastically in active citizenship to improve the quality of life for their school, local and global communities.

The Rota Kids will run their own affairs and decide for themselves, which causes they will support, and how they will do it supported by their Rotarian Mentors.

We have now appointed a secretary, president, and treasurer of the Rota kids group.

White Ash's Rota Kids are very eager to get out into the community and complete our upcoming projects.

We plan to take part in the Ribble Rivers project which allows us to nurture, feed and watch trout fish grow in a tank in a classroom. We will then release the fish back into the local area.

We have designed and decorated our own wooden tree fitting within the theme of 'Woodlands' to be displayed at the Oswaldtwistle carnival, Rota Kids Conference and the Eco event run by Prospects in Accrington town centre.

Another project has been to help clean up our local area by going out to litter pick with Cath from the Rotary Club. See pictures below.

Our latest project has been to help and support the Ribble Rivers trust with the release of trout fish in our local area. See pictures below.

Our Rota kids have been involved in the Ribble Rivers trust project of looking after and releasing trout fish in our local area. The tank was placed in one of our classes for our children to observe and watch as the fish hatched and grew each day! When the fish were ready, we released them into a local stream! Our Rota kids throughly enjoyed this project. Thank you to the Rotary Club for funding it for us.

Our project of cleaning up our local area... We walked around our school and our local area to pick up any litter. We collected two big bin bags full of rubbish! Thank you to Cath from the Rotary Club for joining us!

Here we are designing and decorating a wooden tree with the theme 'Woodlands' for the Rotary Club Competition. Our Rota kids designed and decorated it themselves. We thoroughly enjoyed this project!
