The children have been working hard to explore and match environmental sounds during their phonics lessons. The children have listened carefully to the sounds of farm animals and different types of transport.

We’re going on a bear hunt! The children enjoyed their outdoor learning lessons linking to our core book Bear Hunt. They experienced language from the story such as under, over and through and used their sense of touch to feel the swishy swashy grass and the swirling snow storm.

Our understanding the world focus this half term has been changing materials. The children have observed and investigated the changes that occur when ice, snow and chocolate melt and what happens when we add water to cornflour. It was great to play in the snow too - it was a great opportunity to explore seasonal change.

We had a wonderful visit from Hannah and The Animal Club. We learnt about new animals including snakes, geckos and chinchillas and observed what they did! We we very gentle holding and touching the small animals.

Some of our Early Years children attended Kinder Hub as a full day educational visit. They enjoyed playing together to develop friendship skills, confidence when playing and turn taking and sharing with others.

Gung Hay Fat Choy! EYFS had so much fun celebrating Chinese new year. We explored the colour red, made our own Chinese inspired marks and tasted some traditional foods. The children love to explore different cultures especially experiencing the differences and similarities to their own cultures.
