This half term Eagle class have been exploring our topic of 'Holidays'. We have explored what it might be like going on a holiday e.g. packing a bag, going to the airport and getting onto an aeroplane. We have visited a new place each week, imagining we are going on our holidays every Wednesday to somewhere new. We have then used our senses to explore each place e.g. Spain, Italy, France as well as creating artwork using lots of different techniques and tools. See below for images of what we got up too.
Lots of images, symbols and Makaton were also used to support further understanding and encourage communication.
We have been covering the Unit of 'Instructions' each week. We have followed a simple set of instructions to make jam sandwiches, fruit kebabs and ice creams! Follow up activities from this have been matching objects to pictures, making choices and showing preferences, mark making, tracing lines and patterns, beginning to copy some letters and matching/reading simple instructional sentences.
In Maths we have worked hard on our ILP targets as well as covering Capacity, Position and Direction, Shape and Sorting.
We have also enjoyed our Sports Day this half term. We enjoyed taking part and showing our parents what we can do. See pictures below.
In Science we have learnt about growing and have planted our own flowers. We have explored what flowers/plants need to grow and then moved onto what we may see in the garden e.g. birds, butterflies and minibeasts.
We have also enjoyed a whole school celebration day to celebrate our ofsted inspection and everyone's hard work to make our school amazing!
