Paralympian - 15th June 2022

White Ash was lucky enough to be able to secure a visit from Paralympian Michael Churm through SportforSchools. During his visit, all classes took part in a HITT circuit on the playground before attending an assembly where Michael talked about his disability and overcame losses within the sport to finally win medals which he showed to the pupils. Pupils were then able to ask Michael questions which was lovely to see all the pupils engaged throughout the morning.

Special Olympics / MATP - 27th June 2022

The Special Olympics Motor Activity Training Program (MATP) is designed for athletes who are unable to participate in official Special Olympics sport competitions because of their skill and/or functional abilities. It is recognised nationwide and is building momentum each year.

White Ash School began their Special Olympics training in Autumn 2021. All pupils on the MOVE and PRE-Move program were invited to participate and trained hard each week in their classes, working on different skills from mobility, dexterity, striking and kicking. The pupils finally celebrated their progression of skills in a full Special Olympics day in June 2022 where pupils took part in various activities and games from basketball and races to penalty shoot outs.
Everyone had a wonderful time and lots of fun was had and we aim to continue it with our next event being held during Sports week in June 2023.

Whole School Sports Day - 28th June 2022

Today we enjoyed celebrating our whole school Sports Day. All children from school took part in a variety of athletics and sporting activities including; egg and spoon, obstacle course, curling, target practice, penalty shootout and much more! We had the pleasure of parents coming to watch the children and cheer from the sidelines.
