Autumn Term

Accrington Stanley Shirt Giveaway - 29th September 2022

Our Year 3 pupils had anther fun visit to Accrington Stanley for their yearly shirt giveaway. All the children were able to take home a shirt and have enjoyed wearing it around school and at home.

Tots for Tyres - 14-17th November 2022

Tots for tyres have been amazing this week. The lady was absolutely amazing with all the children!!! Every single one of our children made amazing progress (even from the second session). Our pupils have loved gaining their confidence on a bike, learning to push and glide and use the brakes correctly. 

Inclusive Multi-Sports Event - 28th November 2022

Owl Class took part in a Multi-skills activities morning at Oakhill School. We took part in sporting and team building activities such as; Bocca, judo, puzzles, volleyball & football. We worked well as a team & enjoyed learning new skills and sports.

Spring Term

Glow Dodgeball - 20th January 2023

Children from Wren class took part in a "Glow Dodgeball" event at Oakhill where the UV lights were turned on for an extra special version of the game. 4 pupils attended and took part in games against other school.

Winter Olympics @ Acorns - 3rd February 2023

4 pupils from Owl class attended a Winter Olympics event where we took part in a variety of activities including; hockey, curling, Bocia & an obstacle course. We were even lucky enough to gain the most point and win the event!!!

Bikeability - 21st - 24th February 2023

Throughout the school week the Y5 & Y6 pupils attended daily bike ability sessions focusing on basic bike skills, as well as working towards a Level 1 Bike Ability awards. These skills link to their physical development, learning outside the classroom and life skills. At the end of the week the pupils are given an award certificate and badge for their effort.

Bendrigg Residential - 20th - 22nd March 2023

12 pupils from year 5 and 6 attended a residential at Bendriggs Trust in Kendal for 2 nights and 3 days. Over the 3 days the pupils took part in various activities that were both indoor and out. They took part in Archery, Canoeing, Ziplining, indoor caving and even explored a sensory light room. The children were very busy and enjoyed spending time with thier friends and taking part in experiences they may have not done before. To finish the residential all the pupils and staff spent the evening sat around a campfire, toasting marshmallows and singing songs.

Summer Term

Inclusive Multi-sports - 5th May 2023

Today six children from Robin class had the pleasure of taking part in Athletics, Dance, Kurling and Football challenges at Oakhill College. We all really enjoyed the Kurling, even the adults had a go! We achieved certificates in all areas and represented White Ash with our lovely manners and team skills.

GLD Athletics @ Holly Grove - 10th May 2023

Owl class pupils attended an athletics event at Holly Grove. We took part in 6 different activities including; egg and spoon, bocia, parachute, penalty shootout, floor is lava and throwing practice. The children enjoyed all the activities and tried their hardest when joining in with the activities.

SEND Outdoor Adventure @ Mill Hill - 17th May 2023

A group of KS2 children attended an outdoor activities event at Mill Hill Canalside Activity Centre.  We took part in a range of outdoor activities including canoeing, archery, orienteering and team building games. It was a great day and the children gave their all in each of the activities - some of them for the first time ever!  Well done team.

GLD Football Tournament - 9th June 2023

8 pupils from school took part in the yearly GLD Football Tournament at Pendle View Primary School. All the pupils worked so hard during the games. They tried their hardest, scored and saved goals, worked together & cheered each other on. All the staff were super proud of all the pupils and how well they represented White Ash! We may not have won the trophy but they should all be very proud of themselves. 

Inclusive Sport Event @ West End Primary - 14th June 2023

Owl class visited West End Primary School to take part in a sporting event. Whilst we were there we worked together with children from West End and Year 6 pupils supported by explaining and demonstrating the activities which the children took part in. Activities included; balance, throwing, kicking and jumping. All the worked hard, worked well together and with the children from West End.

MATP Sports Event - 26th June 2023

Pupils on the MATP programme had a great morning celebrating all the fantastic effort they have put in all year, culminating in today's Special Olympics Event. The emphasis is on participation, training and fun rather than competition. Pupils worked on various skills and had a fun time. Thank you for all the parents and carers who came to cheer everyone on!

Sports Day - 27th June 2023

Today we enjoyed celebrating our whole school Sports Day. All children from school took part in a variety of athletics and sporting activities including; egg and spoon, obstacle course, curling, target practice, penalty shootout, wheelchair football, parachute games and much more! We had a great turn out from the parents and carers and it was lovely to see everyone cheering all the children on.

Hothersall Lodge - 12th July 2023

14 Year 3 pupils took part in an outdoor adventure day at Hothersall Lodge. Despite the weather not being in our favour to begin with the pupils all took part in outdoor adventure activities which included; archery, climbing, caving & orienteering which were new to most of the pupils. We had some pupils even climb to the top of the climbing wall!!
