Water, Water everywhere!
Eagle class have been learning all about Water this half term.
We have been reading the text 'Down by the Cool of the Pool' with props and resources to engage pupils within the session. We had lots of fun pretending the animals were splashing in the water and using the water spray to get wet!
In our Creative Curriculum sessions, we have explored Water using food colouring and pipettes to squeeze coloured water onto our paper. We enjoyed squeezing the water and watching it absorb in the paper. We have also used different textures such as bubble wrap to print with when creating artwork. Then we explored Ice, when learning about what happens to water when it freezes. We used coloured ice to paint with and made marks on our paper then we also went outdoors and painted with water onto chalk boards.
For our educational visit, we went to the Sealife Centre. We explored a water environment and saw lots of different sea creatures. It was a lovely day and we found it very calming watching all the fish swimming around! Some of our pupils even touched a star fish in the rockpool section.
