Spring 2

This term we have been exploring the exciting topic of the Ancient Egyptians, and it has been a truly wonderful learning journey!

We have been reading our book Meet the Egyptians and discovering lots of fascinating facts to share. Did you know that Egyptians sometimes kept crocodiles as pets, Egyptian men often wore skirts, and the River Nile is the longest river in the world.

The children have enjoyed a wide range of hands on activities, including practising writing in hieroglyphics, making Egyptian-style jewellery, and exploring different types of Egyptian clothing.

In Maths, we have been recapping number recognition, addition and subtraction, and exploring 2D and 3D shapes. We have also enjoyed finding shapes in our environment.

During outdoor learning, we have been discovering minibeasts and developing our writing skills through both gross and fine motor activities.

In Science, our topic has been living and non-living things. It has been wonderful to explore different animals and learn about where they come from. We have also been learning about the life cycle of chickens, and it was especially exciting to see chicks hatch!

This term we also went on our very first school trip, and everyone loved the sensory experiences it offered. It has been a fantastic term full of exploration, discovery, and learning.
