This half term Eagle class have been exploring our topic of Dinosaurs! Our pupils have really enjoyed this topic and fully immersed themselves in all activities. We have explored a variety of art techniques when learning about the Dinosaurs such as ripping paper, using pasta shells to create a dinosaur skeleton, used newspaper to collage, printed with dinosaurs to create footprints and explored dinosaurs in ice and sand. Lots of images, symbols and Makaton were also used to support further understanding and encourage communication. See pictures below...
Our themed text has been 'Rumble, Rumble, Dinosaur' covering the unit of 'Poems with a structure, song and repetition'. We have enjoyed singing the story to the tune of 'twinkle, twinkle'. Follow up activities from the story have been matching objects to pictures, making choices and showing preferences, labelling characters, mark making, tracing lines and patterns, beginning to copy some letters and matching characters or objects from the story.
We have been to Blackpool Zoo this half term for our Spring term educational visit. We explored the zoo environment and also saw the dinosaurs! See pictures below...
