Meet Our Team:
Keara - Class Teacher
Others adults that help us learn are:
Beth, Nicole, Lauren and Lily.
Zeenat also helps us at lunchtimes.
In Eagle Class, we love to get practical whilst learning. We like to be hands-on and use real life equipment and resources to support and enhance our learning. We follow our Whole School curriculum- White Ash Progression document which is split into different pathways. We use this to create our ILP's (Individual Learning Plans). These are targets which we work on each day in school and are changed 3 times a year. Within our class all 10 pupils are working within the Pre-semi formal curriculum.

Attention Autism
Talk first sessions
Intensive interaction sessions
Sensory gym visits
Makaton signs
PECs- picture exchange
Widgit symbols
ICT technology
Interventions by our HLTAs
Some pupils have sensory diets which means they may need additional activities throughout the day to help regulate their bodies in order to be ready to learn. This may be going for walks, using the climbing equipment or bouncing on the trampettes! We love to use the trampoline for Rebound sessions and the Sensory light room to explore technology and the world around us. We are always busy learning and having fun with our friends!

Reading and Phonics
In Eagle class we love our reading corner, we have lots of books available for our pupils to access and read daily. We read every morning during our morning work. Lots of adult input to develop phonetic knowledge and comprehension skills. We have a themed text for each half term which we read and use props alongside the text. The resources and props enable us to use role play and drama to understand the text further. Our phonics knowledge is built upon by using songs, visual aids, videos and practical resources following our scheme 'Bug Club'. All of our pupils are working within Phase 1 for Phonics.
Our texts for Autumn 2 are:

We are covering the unit 'Stories from the same author'.
