This half term our topic within Robin class is Myths and Legends. We are exploring mythical creatures through stories, sensory exploration and art activities. Our class story is The Three Billy Goats Gruff which features the mythical creature a troll.

Within our science lessons we are exploring light. Experiencing different media of lights, as well as creating shadow puppets with a torch and our hands. 

In PE we are developing our basic fundamental skills; catching, throwing, aiming and target work. We are exploring theses skills through a variety of activities both independently and with support from our adults in class. Some children also enjoy 1:1 Intensive interaction sessions during this time. This develops our social, emotional and self-awareness, whilst building positive relationships with peers and familiar adults.

In English we have been reading The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We have explored a range of characters and props within a sensory story. Sequencing the story through pictures and writing as well as matching characters and objects from the story. 

As part of our Topic; "Myths and Legends" we have explored various mythical creatures and great legends. We have created our own Medusa's, designing a troll picture using chalk and paper plates, a Hydra Dragon out of toilet roll tubes, a castle out of junk modelling and decorated swords for King Arthur. We enjoyed dressing up as Knights when learning about King Arthur and dancing to various songs throughout the weeks.
