  • Intent, Implementation, Impact

The Intent, Implementation and Impact framework is a three-part model introduced by Ofsted in 2019 to evaluate the quality of education and curriculum in schools and Early Years settings.

    Intent (what and why)

The curriculum design, vision and rationale. This defines what knowledge, skills and values children should gain at each stage and how the curriculum is built over time.

    Implenentation (How)

The translation of the curriculum into daily classroom practice. It covers teaching methods, lesson structure, staff-child interactions, resource availability and assessment strategies.

    Impact (How well)

The Evaluation of what pupils have actually learnt and retained. It measures outcomes against expectations through student work, assessments, conversations and long-term readiness for the next stage of education.
