We have a weekly link with our local Oswaldtwistle library. Our pupils love to visit the library and will engage and participate within a story and singing session. Pupils then have the opportunity to explore a range of books and different kinds of texts.

Pupils can talk about what they can see or what they have observed in a new and motivating environment. Benefits of our weekly library visits include:

• -learning reading-like behaviour e.g. turning pages, looking at pictures and text within books
• -turn taking
• -interacting and communicating with peers and adults
• -having the opportunity to freely explore books
• -building positive relationships with new people
